NATURE DISRUPTED
Project Type
Student Project / Central Saint Martins
Date
July 2025
"Nature Disrupted" developed in muslin toile, explores the intersection between rigid, manmade structures and organic forms of the natural world. The garment contrasts structured elements with free-flowing, earth-inspired shapes, reflecting a dialogue between the constructed and the organic.
Research into Jeanne-Claude's Running Fence informed the linear, dynamic qualities of the pants, while the dramatic gathered sleeve emerged from experimentation with volume, tension, and movement in the toile. Ann Goddard's textile art provided further inspiration, guiding the interplay of texture, materiality, and narrative within the piece.
