Grand Anglers

The Grand Anglers project was created by Neely Malik, Sophia Stacy, Sophie Clark, and myself. This group project involved deciding on a collective theme, interviewing subjects who fit the target audience, and creating motifs based on the theme of the project and the results of the interviews. The Grand Anglers collection is targeted toward 70-80-year-old men. The end accessories that were decided on included vests, hats, ties, and socks. Our goal for the interviews was to determine what gave our target audience joy. Many of our interviewees mentioned enjoying activities such as boating and fishing which we decided to make the theme of the collection. Other questions included what colors you enjoy wearing, what patterns you wear most frequently, and what accessories you wear most often. My team members and I collaborated to make a color palette for the collection and a list of motifs to include as well. Each member developed their own motifs using gouache or watercolor and then they were scanned, edited on photoshop, and turned into repeat patterns on Kaledo. Each member mapped out ideas on how they wanted to organize their motifs before hand using block repeats, brick repeats and stripe repeats. Once the repeats were created on Kaledo we went back to photoshop and texture mapped our prints onto apparel images. To see more of this project, look below.
